About Us
The Goal
To provide affordable childcare services to families who desire a SAFE, high-quality, play-based learning environment where their child will flourish and have fun! The children enrolled in this program will not only learn and play in a loving environment, but parents will also feel comfortable leaving their children behind while they do what needs to be done to support their families. I believe that young children have the rest of their lives to learn (and later work) in establishments that feel very public and overwhelming. That is the reason why I have made it my mission to provide a learning environment where the children (and families) can feel the warmth, inclusion, and comfort of being at home.
The Curriculum
One of my favorite things about running my own childcare facility is the freedom I have in choosing a curriculum. The curriculum we use is intentional, and includes lessons and ideas that cater to the Children's interests and needs. My staff and I hand-pick various lesson plans from our many resources, and strategically decide which ones work best for us and the children enrolled. Our monthly themes are interesting and relevant to the everyday world around us.
Children enrolled here will learn the educational and developmental basics such as cognitive, language and literacy, creative expression, and much more! The curriculum we use includes, but is NOT limited to, conceptual learning such as math and language, science, dramatic play, active physical outdoor (and indoor) play, music and movement, social-emotional development, and of course, arts and crafts!!
All of this is achieved while HAVING FUN!
The children here are encouraged to learn from their mistakes, be silly, dance, laugh, and my favorite.. GET MESSY!!!
Since my program is play based, nothing we do ever feels forced. Myself and my staff are trained to recognize teachable moments and incorporate that into our lesson if the opportunity arises.
As your child comes of age, they will be ready to take on the real world that we all know as, kindergarten!
Licensing and enrollment
This Little Genius (TLG) is an in-home childcare facility that has been licensed and in operation since 2014. The max capacity is 14 children.
I love this capacity size because it allows me and my staff to spend quality time with each child and focus on their individual needs, but at the same time, allows the children to affectively engage in group activities and develop their social skills.
This facility participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) to insure the children receive nutritious meals and snacks.
TLG caters to ages 6 months old to 12 years old.
In order to properly care for the children enrolled, only a certain amount from each age group will be accepted.

Need after school care only?
This Little Genius Daycare & Preschool, LLC also offers affordable after school care. We provide transportation from most schools within the Natomas Unified School District.
After a long day at school, your child will come to a loving home where where they can relax comfortably and enjoy snacks and activities.
We also offer homework help and tutoring.
About Mrs. Regia

Hi, my name is Regia! I am the owner, teacher, and head childcare provider at This Little Genius. As A Natomas native, I attended schools within the neighborhood. I continuously held babysitting jobs and assisted my mom with her daycare from 6th grade all the way through high school. I graduated from high school in 2000 and went straight into the childcare field. 2 years into my studies as an Early Childhood Education major, I had the opportunity to work in the dental field (my 2nd love). I quickly got licensed as a registered dental assistant. I was always excited when children came into our office! My love for children, and wanting to care for them and teach them never went away. That’s how I knew that I would need to get back in the childcare field. Shortly after having my 2nd child in 2012, I opened my in-home daycare/preschool. Caring for children is my calling. I am at my happiest when I am a round them!
As a parent, I understand the constant worry that comes along with being away from your little one. I want to assure you that your child is in excellent hands. Aside from being a mother, I have 4 younger siblings and a variety of nieces, nephews and cousins that I helped teach and care for. In addition, I have over 20 years in the childcare field. I am CPR/First Aid certified, along with a number of other trainings and certifications that I have obtained along the way. And most importantly, I am patient.. I mean, you have to be, in this line of work, right?
I would be honored to have your child in my program, where together, we can make this world a better place, one Little Genius at a time.
